Christmas Kettles

Christmas Kettles is the main fundraising campaign for The Salvation Army Community & Family Services. This annual campaign is a joint effort across the entire city between the two Kingston corps. The funds raised are used to support a number of programs that include:

  • after school program with a light meal for high risk children
    • 50 children registered
  • summer day camps for families that cannot afford alternative services while children are out of school
    • 40 children participated
  • over night, out of town summer camps for children in families that cannot afford the cost of the experience
    • 50 children sent to overnight camp
  • food pantries that provide emergency food for individuals, couples and families
    • over 29,700 bags of groceries were provided to 12,922 households
  • hot meal programs for individuals most in need
    • 26,500 hot meals provided
  • vouchers to clients will provide clothing or household goods at the Family Thrift Stores
    • 1,274 vouchers issued
  • vouchers to clients will provide a household goods purchase at the Family Thrift Stores
    • 884 vouchers issued
  • supportive services to help clients manage life’s difficulties and provide a sense of hope for the future
    • 3,800 support services provided
